Playing conditions
A new T20 tournament brings along its fair share of rules and regulations. And it only means one thing for cricket fans around the world - entertainment! So, how different is the SA20 and what are some of its most exciting playing conditions that we can look forward to?
- Each captain can nominate 13 players from the team to take the field before the toss. After the toss, they can select their final playing XI, with the remaining players automatically becoming substitutes
- The winning team in each match will be awarded four points and an additional bonus point if they achieve a run rate of 1.25 times that of the opposition. In case of a 'no result', both teams will be awarded two points.
Team News
With a healthy mix of young and experienced local and international cricketers, Miller & co. will be aiming to start on a winning note. Despite one of their key pacers Obed McCoy being ruled out of the tournament due to injury, the Royals will bank on the talent of their young recruits, alongside all-rounders like Corbin Bosch who add value in both departments. Corbin was also part of the Barbados Royals side that finished as finalists in CPL 2022.
With Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan, Ramon Simmonds in their ranks, the Royals have one of the strongest line-ups of overseas players, and it will be interesting to see how the playing XI turns out in the first game.
